TORCH staff work with students to improve their education outcomes by providing the following services:
- Grade checks and goal setting
- Tutoring and homework help
- Push-in support as needed
Social-Emotional Support
TORCH fosters a positive community that affirms students’ diverse identities and validates their need for belonging. We provide a safe and inclusive environment for students to connect with peers and caring adults.
College and Career Exploration
TORCH staff organize additional activities for our students to explore postsecondary options. At the middle school level, we provide the following:
- Career Speakers
- High School Course Planning
- College Visits
Summer Services
In 2021, Middle School TORCH launched the TORCH Summer Scholars program. TORCH Summer Scholars is a summer experience designed to provide fun, enriching, and exciting opportunities for TORCH students to build community, engage in experiential learning, and explore college and career pathways. Activities include community-building activities, college visits, learning from career speakers, outdoor adventures, and cooking and health education classes.
